Are you an artist or an author? Submit your original artwork, poetry, short stories, or personal essays for a chance to be published in the Blue & Berry Bulletin, WAPL's Art and Literary Magazine. We will be accepting submissions until July 24th, and starting August 4th, physical copies will be available throughout the library and a digital copy will be available online.

Click here to submit your entry!

You may also email submissions to egossell@wauclib.org. Handwritten or printed copies of writing, as well as artwork to be scanned and returned, can be submitted in-person in Kid City, as well. For 3D art mediums (such as jewelry or ceramics), please take a photograph and submit via email.

Please keep in mind:

  1. Only submit your own original work. If it's suspected your work is plagiarized, it will not be eligible for publication.
  2. While we here at WAPL love fanart and fanfiction, for copyright reasons, please do not submit fan creations for review; we would like your own original characters or stories. Referencing pop culture or deriving elements from fairytales and myths is okay!
  3. Please use discretion in your choice of thematic material, imagery, and language in the work you submit. Because this magazine will include work from younger creators and be distributed to WAPL visitors, we will not be able to publish works that are not appropriate for a wide audience.
  4. For long-form writers (short stories and essays), submissions should be no more than 2,500 words or 5 printed pages. PNGs are preferred for art submissions, but JPGs and GIFs will also be accepted.
  5. You may submit an existing work to the magazine! This includes school projects you were proud of or anything you've created on your own time. You do not need to create something new just to enter the magazine.
  6. You may work as a team or a group to submit entries. Feel free to work collaboratively with other people to create your work!
  7. Work submitted past the deadline will be rolled over to the next issue.
