Interlibrary Loan is a fantastic service that allows you to access millions of items from thousands of libraries in the United States. We can request up to five items for you at a time and have them sent to the Wauconda Area Library for pickup.

How to order:

  1. Place orders for materials
  2. We will contact you when the item arrives for pickup at the Wauconda Area Library.
  3. When finished, return the item to us. We’ll make sure it’s returned to the home library.

Don’t see what you’re looking for? Ask us! We’ll take a look for you.

To Renew an Interlibrary Loan, contact us or stop by the Adult Help Desk to renew at least three days before the item’s due date. Interlibrary Loan items cannot be renewed through your online account. Once an item is overdue, we can no longer renew the item.

Overdue interlibrary loans are charged a fine of $.25 per day ($1.00 for videos).

*Some Ordering Restrictions Apply

Please note we cannot order Interlibrary Loan materials that are six months or newer. We also cannot order materials that we have in our collection but are currently checked out.

You must have a valid Wauconda Area Library card to place an Interlibrary Loan order.

You are limited to five Interlibrary Loans at one time (requested, in process, and/or received).

Non-Wauconda Library card holders may request Interlibrary Loans, but please note there is a $2.00 processing fee for each Interlibrary Loan item we successfully acquire for you.
