Food For Fines
September 1 - 30
Help area families in need and eliminate library fines. The library will accept unexpired, never opened, nonperishable items for the Wauconda/Island Lake Food Pantry in lieu of overdue fines. Each item will equal $1 in fines. Donations can't be used toward replacement costs or collection fees.
The Food Pantry is in great need of:
- Canned soups and chili
- Canned fruits and vegetables
- Pasta and pasta sauce
- Cake and brownie mixes
- Tuna and canned chicken
- Peanut butter and grape or strawberry jelly
- Boxed items can also be donated: cereal, granola bars, scalloped potatoes, Hamburger Helper, Ramen noodles and Rice a Roni.
- Toiletries are especially welcome, such as bar soap, dish soap, deodorant, shampoo, feminine products, diapers, toothbrushes and toothpaste.
