Who can post an event?
Anyone who belongs to a community-oriented organization in the general vicinity of the Wauconda Area Public Library District (including Island Lake, Lake Barrington, Lakemoor, Port Barrington, Wauconda, and Volo) and is authorized by their group to post its events. Here are some examples of some organizations who might post their events here:
Scouting groups (Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, etc.)
Pre-Schools and Schools
Quilting and sewing groups
Book discussion groups
Running and exercise groups
Sporting groups and leagues
Boosters, PTO, and other fundraisers
Local government boards and staff
Who oversees and maintains the Community Calendar?
The Wauconda Area Library hosts this service and reviews each submission before it is published on the calendar. This process usually takes no longer than 24 hours.
