COVID-19 Public Safety Policy
Wauconda Area Public Library District
Approved by the Board of Library Trustees July 13, 2020
Wauconda Area Public Library District is taking the following measures, in accordance with the State of Illinois and Center for Disease Control guidelines, to ensure the health and safety of our community and staff:
1.0 Social Distancing
All individuals on Library property must reasonably maintain at least a six-foot distance between themselves and other individuals.
The use of face coverings or masks is not a substitute for social distancing while on the premises.
2.0 Face Coverings/Masks
2.1 All individuals on Library property are required to wear a face covering or mask that covers both their mouth and nose.
2.2 This requirement does not apply to children under the age of two.
2.3 If a patron is unable to wear a face covering or mask due to a medical condition, the Library will provide an alternate method of service.
3.0 Food and Drink
Food and drinks are prohibited while the State of Illinois is impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
4.0 Unattended Minors
Children thirteen years of age and under must be closely accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or a sibling charged with their care aged 18 or older.
This policy shall automatically be lifted when the Illinois Department of Public Health declares that the State of Illinois has reached Phase 5 of the Restore Illinois Plan. The policy shall be automatically reinstated should the Illinois Department of Public Health or other applicable health authority determine that the State or Lake or McHenry County must return to any phase lower than Phase 5 of the Restore Illinois plan.
