Annual Library Card Sign-Up Month
These days who needs a library card? We all do!
Every September the library participates in the national event, Library Card Sign-Up Month. This is a time to remind everyone of the importance of libraries. It's the perfect time to a new library card or dig your old one out of your wallet if you haven't used it in while.
Your library card is the smartest card you own. Access thousands of books, movies, CD's, audiobooks, magazines and more. Use your library to access a computer, check out a laptop, iPod or eBook reader. Attend educational programs and lectures. Bring the family for drop-in crafts, movies and concerts.
Show It, Use It and Win!
Each year the library partners with local businesses to offer freebies and discounts during the month of September. Just show your library card at any of the
participating businesses to be eligible.
How can I get a library card?
Any resident aged 5 years and up can get a library card at no cost, and lost cards will be replaced at no charge during September. New cardholders will receive an orientation packet including a special library pen. Free key chain cards are available during September to all library patrons over the age of 16.
