Learn a Language @ Your Library!

Ready.   Set.    Mango!

If you ever wanted to learn to speak a new language, now is the time!  The Wauconda Area Library is happy to announce the addition of the Mango language-learning system to our collection of online resources.

What is Mango Languages?

Mango LanguagesMango offers a fun, fast, effective, and convenient solution to our community’s growing language learning needs.  Mango teaches conversational foreign language skills for English speakers AND English as a Second Language (ESL) for Spanish and Polish speakers.  Mango is so easy to use — you'll see incredible results after just one lesson!

  • Mango increases comprehension, retention, and usability of practical conversation skills
  • Mango is accessible wherever you go online — at home, at a café…anywhere, with your Wauconda Area Library card
  • Mango is FREE

Mango uses real-life situations and actual conversations to more effectively teach a new language.  You'll not only learn the individual words and phrases, you'll know how they're used in practical situations and conversations.  You'll learn more than grammar, vocabulary, and conjugation — you'll learn how to communicate.

Mango currently offers 12 complete courses and 36 basic courses (covering phrases common for travelers) — with many more on the way.

Grant Funding

This new service is funded by a grant intended to help increase literacy, promote library services to adult immigrants and other English language learners, and improve communication throughout the community.  The grant program, “The American Dream Starts @ Your Library,” is administered by the American Library Association and funded by the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.
