September is National Library Card Sign-Up month, and this is the 10th anniversary of the Wauconda Area Library's partnership with the business community. Approximately 155 library district businesses are partnering with the library to give you more ways to save with your library cards!

Show your Wauconda Area Library card at one of the participating businesses to enjoy freebies or discounts during the entire month of September.

In this tough economy, public libraries are used more than ever, and our library is no exception. Your library card is your ticket to opportunity - what other card in your wallet gives you free access to books, movies, music, magazines, the Internet, cultural and entertainment programs and all sorts of other resources that can change your life - or just make it a little more fun?

Checkout and SPIN is Back!

When you checkout 10 items at the Circulation Desk or 5 items at the self-checkout machine, you can SPIN the wheel for great prizes from our local business partners, including:

To Kickoff Library Card Sign-Up Month

Meet Ronald McDonald and "Everyone's Favorite Spongy Character That Lives in the Sea" on
Sunday, September 6 at 1 p.m.

On Sunday, September 6, Ronald McDonald and "everyone's favorite spongy character that lives under the sea" will be at the library to receive their first library cards. The visit by our favorite spongy character will begin at 1:00 p.m. After that, enjoy Ronald McDonald's Reading Relaxation Vacation "Bookin' with Ronald" show that will be held in the Lincoln Room at 2:00 p.m.

The Friends of the Library will be serving cookies and punch. Bring the whole family - you won't want to miss this big event!

Self-Service Holds Now Available

You can now pick up your own items on hold (excluding interlibrary loan items) from the shelving units across from the Circulation Desk. Your items can then be checked out on the self-checkout machine. You can be in and out of the library in no time with your materials!
