Green Corner
Green Holiday Tips
Money is tight, especially around the holidays. There
are many budget-friendly things you can do to be especially
eco-festive this year!
Tired of using the same decorations year after year?
Your neighbors probably are too! Swap decorations for
a whole new look without spending a dime.
Make sure your outside lights are on a timer.
Send your holiday greetings electronically.
If you buy new lights this year, be sure to purchase LED
lights. Not only do they use significantly less
electricity, they last longer!

It's that time of year again for
Food for Fines!
December 1 - January 4
The Wauconda Area Library will be
accepting donations for the Wauconda/Island Lake Food
Pantry in lieu of library fines on overdue items from Monday,
December 1 through Sunday, January 4, 2009.
When you return your overdue items to the
library, bring along some non-perishable items or canned goods to clear your
fines on those items. New winter
clothing will also be accepted.
This promotion does not include late
video/DVD fines or previous fines on your record. Items donated should be comparable to the
fines being waived.
