Children's Services - Library Assistant
Seeking a part-time library assistant to work 16-20 hours per week, including some daytime hours, two evenings per week, two Saturdays per month, and Sunday afternoons on a rotating basis. Duties include reference, readers’ advisory, materials selection, and programming.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
required; library experience preferred. Broad reading knowledge of children’s
literature desired. Computer aptitude and word processing skills required.
Ability to communicate well in both oral and written English with excellent
interpersonal skills required. Spanish fluency a plus.
Rate: $14.20 per hour

Children's Services - Librarian
Friendly, creative Children’s Services team is growing and seeking a full-time librarian to work 37.5 hours per week, including daytime, evening and weekend hours at the Wauconda Area Library – North Suburban Library System’s 2005 Library of the Year. The library is located in the thriving, fast-growing western Lake County of Illinois, just north of Barrington. Duties for this position include reference, readers’ advisory, collection development, school outreach and programming.
Requirements:
An ALA-accredited MLIS
degree, Broad knowledge of children’s literature and library resources required;
experience working with children required; library experience preferred.
Computer applications skills and Internet skills required; web design skills
desired. Ability to communicate well in both oral and written English with
excellent interpersonal skills required; fluency in Spanish a plus.

Adult Services - Part-time Reference Librarian
Seeking a part-time librarian to provide reference, reader's advisory, and computer assistance to the public. Other duties may include collection development, assistance with programs, activities, displays, and website development. Requires one weekend per month and two nights per week.
Requirements:
MLS from ALA-accredited institution OR solid experience at a public
library adult services reference desk. Library technology skills.
You need exceptional communication skills, familiarity with computer
applications, and a strong desire to work with a diverse public in a very active
library.
