Although it may not feel like it yet,
Summer is
here!
It's finally time to go outside
and enjoy the sunshine. Whether you're working in the
yard, reading on the beach, fishing in the lake, or going
camping, the library has what you need to make the most of
your summer.
Best of all, save on gas because
we're close to home!
Before you set to work in the yard,
download an audiobook using
MyMediaMall or
check out one of our preloaded
iPods or
Playaways.
Check out a hot
bestseller before you hit the beach.
Bring the family and enjoy the
cool sounds of summer during our Wauconda Area Summer
Concert Series, in partnership with the
Friends of the
Library and
the Wauconda Park
District.
Staying close to home?
Browse our
Illinois travel guides (or
Wisconsin or
Indiana). Avoid the "Are we there yet?" question
with these
family travel and activity guides.
Once it gets too hot to cook, try our
no-cook,
barbecue or
outdoor cooking cookbooks. Be sure to register for
our
summer cooking programs!

For the first time in
the library's history, the library will be open Sunday
from noon to 4 p.m. year-round. Until this year,
the library had always been closed Sundays through the
summer months.
We are now able to be
open on Sundays all year because of the great support we
have had from the community. Clearly, our
community's need for information and entertainment extends
beyond the school year, and Sundays have become one of
our busiest days of the week.
We are very happy that
we can accommodate the community's need for Sunday service
through the summer.

their weekly goals will receive fun prizes. Older kids
can participate in special weekly challenges, such as the
hole-in-one putt-putt challenge. Younger kids can try
their luck spinning the big prize wheel.
Complete all six weeks
of reading and earn a "Reading Rewards Booklet"
containing coupons for free admission to museums, sports
events, arcades, theaters and more. |
For Adults
and Teens
Make the library a
playground for your mind this summer! Stop by the
Adult Services Reference Desk to pick up a reading log
starting Monday, June 9th.
Win a prize every time
you read or listen to two books. By participating,
you'll also be entered into a grand prize drawing for an
iPod Shuffle and a $25 iTunes gift card. The more
you read, the better chance you have to win!
