by the Friends
of the Wauconda Area Library.
Book Sale Hours
Friday, October 5 -
9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, October 6 - 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Sunday, October 7 - 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Sunday Only - Fill a bag for $5!

Special Friends Preview
Night
Thursday, October 4 at 7:00 p.m. |
The Friends of the
Library are invited to the "Friends Preview Night" on
Thursday, October 5 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Annual
memberships and renewals will be made available at the library's
Information Desk in advance and also during the Preview Night.
Memberships will also be available throughout the sale.
What's
involved in joining the Friends of the Library?
Stop by the Information Desk at the
library to fill out a membership form or click
here. The Friends of the Library meets on
the second Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. in the Genevieve
Lincoln Meeting Room. Members of the Friends are entitled
to a 50% discount on all Friends-sale books. For more

The purpose of the Friends of the Library
The Friends of
the Library enriches the community by raising funds to
support library services. The Friends group also acts
as library advocates and works to ensure that the library
plays an important role in the community. Just this last
year, the Friends group has sponsored:

Kindergarten
Readiness
Help your four-year old
get ready for kindergarten!
Stop by the Children's
Services desk to pick up a 2007 - 2008 calendar full of
activities designed to develop the skills your child will
need to start school. If you bring your four-year old
with you when you pick up the calendar during the month of
September, your child will receive a special surprise!
Calendars, available in both English and in Spanish, are
generously provided by the
United Way
of Lake County.

Forget a
textbook at school?
The
library to the rescue!
The library has reference
copies of the Wauconda and Transfiguration
school textbooks for all grade levels from
kindergarten through 12. The Children's Services
textbook collection serves kindergarten through grade 6.
The Adult Services textbook collection serves grade 7
through grade 12. Librarians are happy to show you
where they are located and to assist in making copies of
needed materials. For more information or to locate a
