powered by NorthStarNet
The Wauconda Area Library is pleased to announce
the Wauconda Area Community Information Network
(waucondaarea.info),
a community information portal providing
easy web-based access to information pertaining to or
of interest to the communities of Wauconda,
Island Lake, Lake Barrington, Port Barrington, Lakemoor, and Volo. This site
is the
most comprehensive web-based information gateway
to these communities, all of which are located
fully or partially within the library district.
waucondaarea.info is
a service of the Wauconda Area Library and is hosted on
NorthStarNet,
a web-based information network of Chicago area
communities. NorthStarNet is managed by
the
North Suburban Library System and more than
50 local libraries representing numerous
communities.
The
purpose of the Community Information Network is
threefold:

Provide a comprehensive directory of
organizations, resources, services and
events in the Wauconda Area or of interest

-
Provide a Community Calendar, a web-based
cooperative service that provides Wauconda
area residents with one-click access to
local happenings.
-
Provide free Internet web hosting to Wauconda Area
organizations so that they can develop their
own web presence.
