science fiction, or chick lit, the library has
all the resources you need to find the perfect
book.
NoveList
– From the Library website,
www.wauclib.org, click “Electronic
Databases,” where you will find the Novelist
database listed. Like a particular author?
Find more under Author Read-alikes. There are
book discussion guides, BookTalks, Reviews, and
Feature Articles for over 120,000 fiction
titles.
Hot Reads! – Click
on this link from the
Library’s homepage to
access the latest in book lists. There are
Notable Books 2004, New York Times Bestsellers,
Oprah’s Book Club selections, and more!
Our own
Reader's Advisory
webpage - Another great way to easily browse the
sometimes overwhelming possibilities for finding
just the book for YOU. We have compiled
this short list of some of the websites we think
are the best and easiest to use.
Create Your Own List
– Do you write down new titles on little slips
of paper and then try to remember where you put
them? Create your own electronic list instead!
Go to the
web-based
Library Catalog. Type in the title
or author of the book and click “Go.” Click on
the “Title in your Search Results.” Finally
click on the “Add to My List” button on the
right side of the screen. You just created your
list! To see the actual list, click on “My List”
in the upper right corner of the screen.
Book Discussions
– Bored with mysteries? Want to read something
different but don’t know what? Join our Adult
Book Club and let us decide for you. You can
pick up the Book of the Month at the Adult
Services Reference Desk. The Book Club meets at
the end of the month for thought-provoking
discussion. |
