From the director: Public libraries are cornerstones of the American dream, because they are free and open places for entertainment, enlightenment, and enrichment. Libraries provide a world of opportunity for all people, regardless of age, income or background. Whether you’re checking out the latest best-seller or DVD, attending a computer class, researching your college term paper, getting homework help, or using the Internet, the Wauconda Area Library has the resources and staff to help you find what you are looking for on nearly any topic. In fact, your library is now equipped better than ever before to meet your needs for entertainment and information, and to help enrich your life. On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the staff of the Wauconda Area Library, I would like to welcome you and your family to visit the library often. We hope you will enjoy all your visits to the library or to the library's web site, and we look forward to being of service. Your beautiful library has received the
Distinguished Building Award
from the American Institute of Architects,
and was named "Library of the
Year" in 2005 by the North Suburban library System.
We hope you will view your library not only as a valuable resource for a wide variety of
information and entertainment, but as your headquarters for ideas, history and community.
