Playaways

A Playaway is a new type of audiobook. Half the size of a deck of cards, it can be used anywhere. Each Playaway includes one pre-loaded audiobook packaged in a protective case, instructions, a battery, and a lanyard. Patrons are required to supply their own earphones or purchase them at the Circulation Desk for a small fee. The Playaway allows listeners to place digital “bookmarks” to remember where they left off, and to control the speed of the narrator’s voice. iPods

The library now has iPod Nanos available for checkout. Each iPod is preloaded with several audiobooks by genre or theme, including Bestsellers, Mystery,Biography, History, Self-Help, Adventure and more. A protective case, battery and instructions are provided. Patrons are required to supply their own earphones or purchase them at the Circulation Desk for a small fee.
