NEW! Self-Checkout Stations

We invite you to come try the new self-checkout stations at the Circulation Desk and in the Children's Department. It's never been faster and easier to check out your own materials with the privacy of the self-checkout stations!

Self-checkout is simple. A touchscreen guides you through the process:

1. Scan your library card barcode.
2. Place the item in the square on the counter.
3. Once the screen shows that it has been checked out, move it to the side. You can check out multiple items at one time!
4. Select Receipt, No Receipt or Email Receipt.

That's it! All circulating materials will check out on the machines. This includes books, books on CD, magazines, videos, DVDs, and music CDs.

The self-checkout station will also let you know if you have fines. Pay with the swipe of a credit card and continue with your checkout. It's easy, convenient and private.  There will always be a staff member on hand to provide a demonstration or assistance if you have a question.  No matter the success of the self-checkout stations, the convenience will not replace the need for staff.

In order for the new self-checkout stations to work, all of the materials in the library needed to have new Radio Frequency Identification, or RFID, tags. We want to give a big THANK YOU to all the volunteers, Friends of the Library and staff who worked very hard this summer to convert from the old system to the new system. We appreciate your dedication to the library and our community.
