Well known for its friendliness, the Wauconda Area Library serves a fast-growing district of 26,000 residents with a staff of 55 employees, an award-winning building, and state-of-the-art automation and computer services. The Wauconda Area Library, North Suburban Library System's 2005 "Library of the Year," is located in the fast-growing northwest suburbs of Chicago, in western Lake County, just north of Barrington and Lake Zurich. The library district encompasses all or portions of Island Lake, Lakemoor, Lake Barrington, Port Barrington, Volo, Wauconda, and unincorporated Lake County.

Library Associate

Seeking a part-time library associate to work 10-12 hours
per week,
including morning and afternoon hours. Occasional weekend hours may be required,
to assist with library programs.
Duties include shelving, various clerical tasks,
preparation of programming materials, reminder phone calls, assistance at
Children’s programs and special events, and other duties, as needed.
High school diploma and computer word processing skill
required; experience working with children preferred.
Ability to communicate well in both oral and written English with
excellent interpersonal skills required; ability to communicate in Spanish
desirable.
Wages: $10.10/hour.
