Use a Library Computer
Using Computers Upstairs in Adult Services
The Adult Services computers are for patrons in seventh grade or older. Younger patrons should use the computers in Children’s Services.
To sign onto a computer
The library uses a self-service sign-in system called PC Reservation™ to manage the use of its public access desktop computers. To sign in to any computers in the adult areas, patrons must have one of the following:
Stop by one of the two Reservation Stations in front of the Adult Services Reference Desk. You will need to scan your library card at the Reservation Station to be assigned a computer. Reservations are good for 55 minutes and can be extended two 15-minute sessions if no one is waiting. Patrons are eligible for two sessions per day, regardless of the time used during each session.
Additional Computer Access
The library has several laptop computers that can be checked out with your valid Wauconda Area Library card if you are 18 or older. A driver's license or some other valid form of photo identification is also required. First-time users will be asked to fill out and sign a Library Laptop Computer Checkout Policy and User Agreement. Laptops may be used inside the library for up to 2 hours. Click here for information on wireless printing.
The Wauconda Area Library is a wireless hotspot. Bring in your wireless-ready laptop for free Internet access. Click here for information on wireless printing.
