Wauconda Library earns high honor
Last week we
brought you news that the Wauconda Area Public Library earned a
great honor. It was named "Library of the Year," by the North
Suburban Library System, a consortium of 650 libraries in the north
and northwest suburbs. That's no easy task, especially when you
consider the libraries the Wauconda Library was judged against.
There are many good libraries in the area.
We add our congratulations to the library staff and board for
earning the wonderful honor.
If you are a taxpayer and don't use this outstanding resource --
it's your loss. Getting a library card is easy and the service is
outstanding. The library had plenty of activities going on during
National Library Card Sign Up Week. The staff is doing everything
possible to attract people through the doors.
They figure once you are there, you'll find something that piques
your interest. That's probably a pretty good bet. The library has
everything from books to CDs. It even shows movies.
It is truly a great community resource.
If you live in the district, you should take advantage of it.
This award is proof that the Wauconda Library is giving residents
exceptional value for their tax dollar.
