SUGGESTION BOX

1. For your Sunday afternoon concerts, please have another classical one. |
We will – thanks for your interest! |
|
2. (via web site) Within the December, 1999 Suggestion/Response Box, No. 5, the Library response, "The library, however, cannot collect funds for this or any other special interest." What authority does the library have to collect "late fees" for disbursal to a private food pantry, etc., as during past holidays? |
The collection of foods – not funds -- for the local food pantry during the holiday season at the library in lieu of fines is a popular tradition at many libraries around the country and is in keeping with the spirit of the season. We do not consider the distribution of food during the holiday season to those who need it as collecting funds for a "special interest." For your information, the library also collects donated eyeglasses which the Lion’s Club distributes to those who need them. |

3. You guys should have arts and crafts for older kids. And then they would hand it in for the best. |
We'll consider this -- thanks for the suggestion! |

4. A color copier would be a valuable resource. |
Unfortunately, the library cannot afford one at this time – these machines cost far more than the black-and-white machines. We did have a color copier several years ago which got surprisingly little use, even at just 50 cents per copy. As a result of low usage, the vendor who owned the machine removed it. |
