SUGGESTION BOX

March, 2002

1. Please purchase these videos: Night of the Hunter, Nutty Professor II: The Klumps, Mr. Mom,

These videos have been purchased.

2. Please purchase the audiobook CD "Middle Age" by Joyce Carol Oates.

We’ll order it.

3. Please order the biography by Edmund Morris "The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt". You have the second book.

This book has been added to our biography collection.

4. It would be great if you could order the book "Federation Without Television" by Andrew Bushard. This book is very absorbing.

We’ll order it.

5. I want to thank the Wauconda Library and its director for presenting information on the Volo Power Plant. It’s important for our library to be a repository for information like this. Please continue to keep us informed!

Thank you! We look forward to future opportunities to help the community become informed about important local issues. We appreciated the information that was provided for us by the Volo Plan Commission – their eagerness to help residents make an educated choice in this matter was commendable.

6. The kids’ program for Messiah Preschoool was really great and kept the kids’ attention. You are doing a great job!

Thanks for your kind compliment!

7. We really appreciated your generosity in reducing our fees.

In certain instances reducing fines is necessary due to special circumstances. We want our patrons to know that we appreciate them and want to encourage them to utilize the library and all of the great programs we offer.

8. You’re doing a great job here! The bathrooms are always clean and stocked, nice quiet study areas, the internet access and other computers that are available are good, and staff is very friendly and helpful. Keep it up!

Thank you!

9. Why can’t the tax forms be placed in the lobby? I’m elderly and it is a long way! Thank you.

We’ll consider this.

10. You need more books on tape!

We plan to purchase 120 books on tape in the coming fiscal year and 300 books on CD. The fiscal year begins July 1. Because these items are the single most costly type of library materials, we have had to wait until the tax rate increase resulting from our April 2001 referendum kicks in this summer.

11. More Heavy Metal music CDs like Zakk Wylde, Ozzy, Slipknot, Adema, Taproot and Static-X. If you get these CDs tons of people I know will check them out.

We’ll give them a try –please keep in mind that we do not purchase any CD’s that are rated "Parental Advisory."

12. More Garfield and more Calvin & Hobbes.

We will purchase more copies of these popular comic collections. Until they arrive, please ask the Children’s librarian to reserve any titles (that are currently checked out) that you would like to read. JS

13. Please get more Odyssey audiotapes. Thank you!

We will purchase more tapes in the Odyssey series. Thanks for your interest in our audiobooks collection!

14. It would be nice to check out children’s books/videos for the children’s downstairs desk. It is extremely difficult to go upstairs and wait in line for checkout with a 2 ½ year old and he is off and running while I’m waiting. If you could check out in the downstairs he could look at the fish or play with the up front Bob Builder.

Unfortunately a checkout desk downstairs is not feasible at this point in time. However, we are considering a self-checkout machine in the next fiscal year, which will enable you to check out with your child with little or no waiting - keep watching for that!

15. I think the library should rent out video games for Nintendo 64.

Unfortunately, we have no plans to purchase video games -- sorry!

16. DVD’s do not play well in PlayStation because of labels.

We are sorry our DVD’s do not play well in your machine. We must label our DVD’s for security and identification purposes.

17. We go to many different libraries, but the one we like the best is Wauconda Library.

Thank you for your kind words - it is a compliment to our staff, our programs and our building, as well as to our fine collection of materials for all ages!

18. Please get drawing classes!

We’ll consider this – could you be more specific?
