SUGGESTION BOX

1. You guys finally have a section for teens! Thank you! |
Thank YOU – and thanks to our Young Adult Advisory Boards! Stay tuned – there’s more to come! |
2. I suggest you get the Frank Peretti children’s series "The Cooper Kids" and "The Vertex Project". |
We’ll order the series, and we’ll try to order "The Vertex Project" – can you tell us any more about this publication? |
3. Re: DVDs and CDs: 1. Please get a disc cleaner. 2. Put a label on all DVDs (and CDs showing and telling how to and how not to handle discs. The past 5 out of 6 DVDs I’ve gotten from here have skipped, they have been so scratched and dirty. |
We are sorry you have had problems with our DVDs. When you return items that you feel are defective, please let us know so we can clean or repair them. |
4. Please buy or borrow "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken", "Planet of the Apes", "Francis the Talking Mule" series. |
We have purchased or borrowed these videos for you. Thanks for the suggestions. |
5. I miss picking up a copy of "Book Page", the newspaper that previewed new books. It used to be above the New Book display. Please bring it back! |
We're happy to report that we have ordered a subscription to "Book Page." It should be available to patrons within the next month or so. |
6. Could you please start getting the following magazines "MacAddict" "MacFormat". |
These are a bit specialized for a collection as general as ours. We can get issues for you through interlibrary loan, though – just ask at the Reference Desk for further information. |
7. The library needs automatic door openers, feet or eye activated. Screaming kids and fights would be eliminated! |
We have large push-button door openers at the main entrance. We encourage everyone to use these. We’re not sure what you mean by your suggestion about kids. |
8. This library rocks! So many books! |
Thanks – there’s much more to come! |
9. I think that you should have more computers and one hour and a half for each person. |
We are about to double the number of Internet workstations in the Adult Services department. There will be a different set of time restrictions once the new workstations are in place. |
10. Study room. |
Our Quiet Study Room will soon be much more quiet – it will be complete enclosed by the end of the summer. |
11. How about starting a chess club at the library? It could meet once a week or so for anyone who would like to play or learn. |
It sounds like a great idea! We'll look into starting a chess club this fall. Please stop by the Adult Services Desk for more information. |
12. Could you please order the books "What Baseball Means to Me" by Kurt Smith, Fantastic Fabric Folding by Rebecca Wat. |
We will order these – thanks! |
13. Often my family fails to pass on messages to me (example: "Your book is in.") Would you consider using e-mail to notify people? |
We would be happy to email you for your holds. Just give us a call or stop in with your email address! |
14. Oprah’s book of the month on CD. More books on CD in general. Many cars don’t offer cassettes and I would like to listen in the car. |
Unfortunately, Oprah has ceased her book club. While she may pick a book from time to time to share with the public, her recommended list has been discontinued. As for books on CD, we plan to purchase 300 titles this year. Thanks! |
