SUGGESTION BOX

July, 2002

1.  My kids loved the rock wall and other fun activities that you had that day!  I have received a lot of feedback on the pictures I took!

We are happy to hear that you and your children enjoyed our Outdoor Dig Party!

2.  What a marvel!  His hands are quicker than my eyes.  Quick, proficient, great knowledge of what he is doing.  A real wiz in the Reference Department.  Don’t let him go!

Thank you!

3.  Cut receipt after every book!

After the setup of our new computer, the printer receipt settings needed to be adjusted.  Sorry for the cut receipt – it won’t happen a second time!

4.  Please buy new Van Morrison CD “Down the Road”.

This CD is in our collection.  Thank you for the suggestion.

5.  I thought the program should have sign language.  You can make books of sign languages to kids.  I am deaf.  People at the library look at me sign.  I am 13.

Please let us know what you would like to see here regarding signing – we would like to accommodate all hearing-impaired people.

6.  Can you get the movies Billy Madison, Backdraft, Bird on a Wire, Overboard, Frankie Avalon and Annette “beach movies”, more Colin Firth videos or DVD’s like Relative Values, James Bond films on DVD, Beverly Hillbillies (new version).

We’ll do our best - thanks for the suggestions.

7.  I thought it was so kind of the librarians to make up these programs for us kids!  Thanks!

Glad to hear you enjoy our programs!  We hope to see you this fall when our autumn activities begin!

8.  Your DVD collection is growing very well.  Good job.  One set I would love to see here is the Star Trek Next Generation series of DVD’s.  They have released the first and second season DVD sets at this time.

Okay – we’ll get it.  Thank you.

9.  I think that you should have more computers and one hour and a half for each person.

We just added seven computers in the Adult Services department, all with Internet access.  There is a two-hour time limit on these only if people are waiting.

10. My friends and I would love to learn to quilt.  Would you please have a class this fall?

We’ll try to plan this for the fall, but cannot guarantee it – our programming for this season is already scheduled.  We might have to wait until January or February.  Thanks for the suggestion!

11.  Great selection of teacher materials, especially Mailbox items!  Thanks!

We are pleased that you are finding our Parent/Teacher resources so helpful.  We are purchasing more and more materials for this collection, so be sure to check the “New” shelf each time you visit the Children’s department.

12.  I want to say you have a pretty library and the ladies are nice to every one.  I was at the old library on Liberty Street; it was nice, but small.  This place is a dream, everything here is nice, and also the books and other things are just so nice.

Thank you SO MUCH!

13.  Get new benches out front.

The benches out front will be replaced soon.

14.  Put children downstairs.  I believe that was originally for them.  Also when upstairs, remind parents to control them (hush up).

We do our best.  We ask all parents to keep their young children’s voices down to a dull roar.  Soon we’ll have a Quiet Study Room in the Adult Services department that is truly quiet!

15.  Please continue day trips, i.e. Riverdance.

We plan to have such trips now and then.  Let us know what you want to see!
