1. Please purchase these DVDs videos, and CDs: The Mexican, Places in the Heart, American President, The Set-Up, The Hill, Silent Running, Heartbreak Ridge, The Replacements, "O", Sound of Music, Cloak & Dagger (1984), Follow the Leader. |
These DVDs, videos and CDs have been ordered or interlibrary loaned for you. |
|
2. A sign for Large Print books. Anyone with difficulty seeing, especially the elderly who don’t like asking, would appreciate this. |
GOOD IDEA – WE’LL DO THIS. THANKS! |
|
3. Please get more books on compact disc. |
Our collection of Books on CD is about to grow rapidly, because of higher demand, user-friendliness, availability, and affordability. |
|
4. Last fall you offered a class on PowerPoint use. Could you please consider offering that class again? I could not make it to the last one. |
We will offer it in the fall again. |
|
5. It would be an informative record to have a yearly printout of book titles that had been borrowed, similar to what a pharmacy furnishes to prescription purchasers. To fund it, make an appropriate charge for the service. |
For purposes of patron privacy, our computer system does not keep a record of books that have been checked out once they have been returned and checked back in. |
|
6. I know everyone is doing it, but I think it is totally unfair to allow unlimited take out, especially on new videos, new music, and even new books. |
Those who check out many materials would argue that it is unfair to limit checkouts. In fact, we do limit the loan periods of new materials in order to increase availability. If there is ever a title you wish to get, please remember that you may place a hold on any material except new videos or DVD’s. |
|
7. I need each book to have a due date. Having one receipt for multiple books doesn’t help me…I always have fines. |
Date due slips are available at checkout for each book if you request them. It is up to you to write the date due on the slip, though. You can use the receipt to get the dates due. Many people keep their receipts in a specific place at home (i.e., using a refrigerator magnet) – this is highly recommended – we really don’t want you to have fines – we just need to get the materials back for the next person to use. |

8. There were no Bibles in the Children’s section. I would love to see a copy of the Bible on the shelf! Even better would be a children’s Bible with illustrations and scripture!! |
We have more than a dozen bible-related books for children. We’ll look for a children’s version of the bible itself – if we find it, we’ll order it. |
