SUGGESTION BOX

June, 2006

1.  Your Adult Services librarian did a tremendous – extremely helpful – computer assistance job. Thank you!

Thank you for your compliment!  We appreciate it.

2.  Please purchase:  DVDs: Stargate season 8, Quincy Medical Examiner; books: Jimmy Neutron, the Grafic Novel series, VHS: Leap Frog Letter Factory, Sonic or Shadow comic books or magazines, PlayStation, X-Box, Game Cube games, Nintendo Power, Hog Heven, PS2 Cheats and magazines about one game.

These are being considered for purchase.  Thanks for the suggestions!

3.  Any thoughts on putting parental advisory warnings on Young Adult books?  My son checked out the “Lone Wolf and Cub” series and I was shocked to find the graphic content.

We appreciate your comment about this YA graphic novel series.  We agree that this highly acclaimed series is for a mature audience. This series is going to be moved to a new Graphic Novels location in the Adult Services Fiction collection, completely separate from the YA collection at the opposite end of the building.

4.  I would like to thank your Reference librarian for being so helpful today with the information about basketball that my son needed to do his homework for school projects.  Thank you so much!

Thank you very much for your compliment!

We are happy to assist with any research requests you may have.

5. I belong to the Friends of the Library and have a sticker on my Barrington card.  I just needed to send a work file on computer.  Since I didn’t have my card with, I couldn’t even pay $2.00 to use a computer for two minutes.

The library’s PC Reservation System is an automated system that requires you to input your personal library card number in order for the computer to operate.  We do not charge to use the computers here – all you need is your library card.    Please understand that if we make exceptions to this rule for you, we will have to make exceptions for everyone.  This, in turn, would defeat the whole purpose of the PC Reservation system, which is to provide more efficient and more equitable access to all users.

6. Why does the Library allow some children to scream, cry and throw tantrums?  It is very annoying to have to listen to this.

We ask that all parents do their best to control the noise level of their children and to be considerate of the other people in the library.
