SUGGESTION BOX

|
1. Please be open on Sundays this summer! |
We will consider the feasibility of sustaining Sunday hours through the summer. Most neighboring libraries remain closed on Sundays through the summer because of low usage and because of staffing costs. These are important concerns for the Wauconda Area Library, as well. |
|
2. Please purchase: DVDs: Robot Chicken,The O.C., Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, Saw 2, Addams Family Values, Fun With Dick and Jane (1977), Mr. Hobbs Takes a Vacation, Importance of Being Ernest (1952), Deuce Bigalow European Gigolo, Stargate SG-1 seasons 4,5,6, Northern Exposure season 2 ; CDs: Evans Blue, Karmacode, |
These are being considered for purchase. Thanks for the suggestions! |
|
3. I think there should be a 4th grade super hero art contest. |
Thanks for the suggestion! We will consider your request when we plan future programs. |
|
4. No roller blading should be allowed on the library ramp. |
Rollerblading and skateboarding are not allowed. Anyone caught doing this will be asked to leave the premises. |
|
5. Notary Public is a great service for us—thank you. |
Thank you for taking advantage of this service! |
|
6. No one should need a library card to use the PUBLIC computers and now I have to BUY a card to use the printer! |
Our PC Reservation System coordinates the access to, and fair use of, all public computers in the library. It requires each computer user to type in their library card number to enter the system. You only need to purchase a card for printing if you are not a Wauconda Area Library cardholder. There is a one-time fee of 50 cents for this card. If you have a Wauconda Area Library card you pay for only the price of copies. These requirements are now typical at many libraries in the area and are quickly becoming the standard. |

7. Recently my son borrowed the books named “Bone”. I think neither contents nor picture is appropriate. At least there is no positive value for children. I would like to suggest our library buy more awarded books such as Newberry Medal books. We do have some Newberry Medal books but the quantity is very limited. By the way, I saw a lot of teaching aids in Ela Library for parents to borrow. How about we also buy those kinds of materials such as in teaching math, writing and language. This would help parents a lot for helping children learning. |
Please understand that the
library cannot please everybody every time – we provide a broad range of
materials, including hundreds of award-winning titles. The Bone series of
graphic novels, by Jeff Smith, is very popular and has received excellent
reviews. Andrew Arnold (Time Magazine) wrote recently, “Combining the
instant gratification of strong cartooning with the deep engagement of epic
storytelling and the universal appeal of humor, Jeff Smith's "Bone"
has become the best all-ages graphic novel yet published.”
