SUGGESTION BOX

1. Thank you for your display of Hispanic Heritage Month.  It was wonderful.

We are glad you enjoyed this display!  We are in the process of updating and expanding our Hispanic collection.

2.   Please purchase: movies: Cedarmont Kids, 6 Feet Under, Meteor Man, BallyKissAngel, Joe’s Apartment, Cats, Crocodile Hunters, Jeff Corwin Experience, I’m Not Scared, Millions, Dear Frankie; music: Linkin Park,CriCri, Tercer Cielo, David y Abraham, VIP, Groupo Rojo, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Sync; books: Big Book of Bicycle Repair, The Early Bird by Rathman, Just Friends by Sisman.

These are being considered for purchase.  Thanks for the suggestions!

3. Maybe when the older kids are upstairs and no computers are available and all the ones downstairs are empty they would let adults sign up for 30 minutes!

We ask for your understanding in our commitment to providing young children with access to the library’s computers.  Since there are only six computers in the public area of the Children’s department, we really do have to reserve them for children’s usage.  They are seldom empty in the after-school and evening hours, when student demand peaks.  Please check out a laptop computer at the Circulation desk if all computer workstations in the Adult Services department are occupied.

4.  Most libraries have a sign in and time limit for computer use.  Very often I am here when all computers are occupied for long periods of time and I think this approach would be beneficial to all.

Thank you for your suggestion.  At present only the Labs in the Adult Services Computer Resource Center follow this policy.  The library is in the process of adding laptop computers for use by adults anywhere in the library.  These will be available at the Circulation Desk for a two hour loan period.  The library is also planning to install PC reservation software in the near future which will automatically track user’s time at the computer.

5.  (I am a) Transfiguration teacher suggesting “field trip” on site for library service; orientation as professional development day.  Our school has the cards but many of us don’t realize the scope of how the library can help us.

We will be happy to contact you to discuss an in-library service presentation.

6.  We like your homeschool board and we would like to see more materials offered for homeschoolers.  Such as games, learning kits, microscopes, science items.  You have many great materials.  Just keep adding.  Thank you for a great resource.

We are pleased to learn that you find the home school information center useful! Let us know if there are specific resources that we can provide or obtain through interlibrary loan for your home school.
