SUGGESTION BOX

October, 2005

1. We loved Gruesome Grub! We would like to see more cooking for 2nd grade.  Also maybe more cooking for preschool?

Thanks for the compliment!  We will consider adding more cooking classes when we develop our line-up of winter and spring programs.

2.  Please purchase: Stone Fox audio; videos: Lost, Honey; books of CD: Nora Roberts, J.D. Robb,

These are being considered for purchase.  Thanks for the suggestions!

3. Please return to the librarian recommends for the murder mysteries, where you’d say “If you like Paretsky, you’ll like…” It was helpful.

We are glad you enjoy find the read-a-likes of benefit.

4.  It would be so much more convenient if we could check out in the children’s area!

We are considering adding a self check-out station downstairs.  Thanks for your input!

5.  A bigger toy section downstairs!

Over the course of the year, we add numerous toys to the preschool play area and withdraw worn items.  Currently we have as many toys as our shelves and bins will hold!

6.  I request the library celebrate Polish Heritage Month, German Heritage Month, i.e. all the nationalities in this country.

Thanks for your request.  We occasionally incorporate themes such as these into our programs (i.e., crafts, cooking, etc.).   Please let us know if you have any specific suggestions.

7.  Your staff in the Children’s Department helped me so much.  I needed help finding Spanish books.  Wow!  They found a ton of materials for me!  Thanks!

Assisting patrons is our top priority (and the most satisfying part of our job!)  We are happy to hear that you obtained everything that you wanted at the library!

8.  A coat rack would be helpful so chairs can be used to sit on rather than to store coats.

Although it may be a little out of sight, a coat rack is available in the preschool play area.  You will find it between the counter and the window wall of the storytime room.

9.  Computer access is always full with teenagers and not open for adults.  Either take the Quiet Room (glass enclosed) and make that for teenagers or adults only over age 21 with computer access limited to two hours access or use the meeting room for teenagers with computers and library card only!!

The Adult Services Dept. has laptop computers available to use anywhere in the library for a period of two hours to Adults at least 18 years of age.  These can be checked out at the Circulation Desk.   Six more laptops will soon be added for checkout.

10.  Love the cooking classes and P.J. Storytimes.  Would like more cooking classes for older children.

Thank you!  We will consider adding more cooking classes when we plan our winter and spring programs.

11.  We really enjoy the drop-in crafts you have for the children and they are generally very nice.  I know there have been choices before and would have appreciated it in October.  Some of us would rather not do Halloween crafts with our children and would have appreciated a second option.  Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Thanks for your recommendation regarding fall crafts.  We will consider your suggestion when we plan next year’s events.

12.  Get a bigger movie station upstairs.

We’re not sure what you mean.

13.  There is currently no lighting at the crosswalk.  The blind spot puts drivers and customers at risk.

We’re not sure what you mean by “blind spot,” but we are considering ways of making the parking lot crosswalks safer.
