SUGGESTION BOX

October, 2004

1. Why not have a “Starbucks” experience here at our library.  A “java/study room” so I/we can enjoy some brew as we read.  Coffee and research go together J

We agree!  We are considering ways to provide beverages in the library.  For now, though, you are welcome to bring a beverage, as long as it is covered and as long as you dispose of it appropriately.

2.  I want to see “Vanity Fair” shown at the library...

Thanks for the suggestion.  We will keep this in mind for our winter/spring programming.

3. Please have computers in the quiet study room.  On more than one occasion numerous distractions occur in both computer areas.

We will soon have laptop computers with high-speed wireless internet access available for two hour checkout periods for use inside the library.  If you have a driver’s license and your library card is in good standing you will be able check one out and use it in the Quiet Study Room.

4. It’s too hot in here to concentrate, almost unbearable.

Unfortunately, this is the transitional time of year when it can sometimes be difficult to control air temperature evenly throughout this large building.  We apologize for any discomfort.

5.  Please purchase:” The Table Saw Book”, “Snakecharmer”, “Teen Fathers Today”, “Katie Kazoo” series; DVDs: “Buffy” seasons 4-6, “Angel” seasons 1-7, “Child’s Play” seasons 1-7, “Jason” 1-6, “Batman, the Animated Series”, “Mortal Kombat” movies.

These are being considered for purchase.  Thanks for the suggestions!

6. Please add more parking lot lights, especially when you walk from the library to your car.  It’s pitch black out there!

This temporary problem has been fixed – our timers were off a bit because of a power outage.  Sorry for the inconvenience!  We’ve actually made some important improvements to the exterior lighting in recent years.

7.  How come when people have overdue items, and someone else wants them, we wait forever, especially on items that you can’t put a hold on.  Seems not very fair.

We are working resolve this problem.  If there is a specific item you are concerned about, please let us know.

8.  Various suggestions regarding the planned and then cancelled screening of Fahrenheit 9/11.

These suggestions will be compiled in a separate document at a later date, with names removed.
