4. I am an elderly woman and I could not walk down the stairs with my granddaughter. The Circulation staff offered to take me to the back door. Elevator out of service for two days!

We apologized for this inconvenience. Unfortunately, the elevator broke down on a Saturday and the repairman could not come until Tuesday morning.

5. A couple of men were spraying something in the children's play area. We left because it smelled extremely bad. I would like to suggest doing this after or before the library opens.

6. When will you be starting "Senior Coffees"?

We do not have plans to have Senior Coffees in the very near future. We would like to invite you to ongoing activities at the library that you may enjoy. We now offer a morning adult book discussion group as well as the evening book group. And our Friends of the Library is delighted to welcome new members.

8. (via web site) I have been trying to come to the library for the past four weeks to study for come certification exams I have to take. The one thing that stands out about the library is that it is far too noisy. I was in today, and a group of school age kids were sitting at a table in the middle of the library just having a great time. You offer a quiet area, but it is wide open to the general library area! I have been in many libraries, and I am aware, from time to time there are disturbances, but your facility is the worst. To further exacerbate the issue, no one, I mean absolutely no one working at the library took 30 seconds to ask the kids to quiet down. Your library is not what a library should be. A place of peace and quiet to be enjoyed by all of the taxpayers, and not just the noisy uncontrolled minority. Please let me know what you plan to do to correct this situation or let me know who I need to talk to, to get the problem addressed. It is a nice facility, I would like to enjoy it.

We have the designated Quiet Study Area that is located behind the Adult Reference Desk. An important part of the library's plan is to improve the Quiet Study Area by fully enclosing it. In the meantime, we will try to be especially careful to monitor the noise level. Please accept our apology for the inconvenience.
