Library Card Sign-Up Month
a Smashing Success!

* More than 500 new library patrons
registered in September! *

* Special thanks to all of our partners
in the business community! *

September was the most successful Library Card Sign-Up Month in the history of the Wauconda Area Library!    This year, 531 new patrons were registered for library cards during this one-month period.  Hundreds more received replacement cards or keychain cards.

More than 110 participating businesses (click for entire list) throughout the library district offered discounts or freebies when their customers presented Wauconda Area Library cards during the month of September.

Drawings were held on Friday, October 1 for 38 lucky winners of prizes that were donated by some of the participating businesses.
Grand Prize winners each received a $25 Barnes & Noble gift certificate (4 categories - child, teen, adult and a lucky FlashScan user).  Special thanks to those businesses who contributed prizes for these drawings: Fantastic Sam's (free haircuts/style), The Golf Farm (free mini-golf certificates), Hoffman's Garden Center (beautiful mums), Papa Murphy's (free pizzas), Sunshine Flowers (2 kitchen utensil vases with spoons), SunSplash Tan Spa (free tanning sessions) and the Volo Auto Museum (free admissions).

Special thanks also to Culver's - they donated 500 free scoop or cone tokens and the tokens were given away daily at random to patrons at the Circulation Desk.
